Yarn and More first opened its doors in July of 2004. The Store is moving across the street next to Summit Elementary School on Route 716 in Summit, Kentucky outside Ashland, in eastern Kentucky, right in the heart of bluegrass country. The move has been made and the Store is now open. The new address is 926 State Route 716. Route 23, the country music highway is just a short distance away. Owner, Sharon McKnight began new ownership of Yarn and More on January 1st, 2009. You can expect the same good service and items offered to continue. Knitting, crocheting classes are available. The Store carries a large variety of yarn including yarn from Cascade Yarn, Dark Horse Yarn, Mission Falls Yarn, Universal Yarn, Plymouth Yarn, Trendsetter Yarn, Feza Yarn and Cestari Yarn Made in the USA with a number of other yarn manufacturers. Come in and browse or call to check for a particular item and when you call Yarn and More you will talk with Sharon. Check with store for scheduled times.

Our goal is to ship orders with 48 hours for in-stock items. You will receive an e-mail regarding the shipping date of any item that is not in stock. Yarn and More is not able to ship orders out of the country at the $5.00 shipping rate. Out of country shipping rates must apply. Shipping is free when you order $100 or more and only $5.00 when you order less.
We ask that you call for particular color yarn. Plus there is a new arrival of Universal Cotton sock yarn available. Come and see. Also Email for answers to any questions you may have regarding these.

A wonderful opportunity to teach knitting to inmates at a local Federal Correctional Institution is being put into action. Sharon is very excited about teaching them to knit. Also, a class to teach crocheting to the inmates is in place now. Exciting things are happening at the prison. Please be in prayer for her and the inmates. An Update: They are now working on projects for Breast Cancer Awareness. The next stage is working on baby hats for the local hospitals and charities. Plus they have just started working on items for the Sasabe orphanage in Sasabe, Mexico. If you would like to donate yarn please send it to the Yarn and More address.
Yarn and More managment would like to thank Laura Berry at www.lilbear.org for the yarn that was donated for the work that is going on at the prison. Pictures are now posted on this web site showing the skill of the inmates in knitting.

Directions to Yarn and More--If you are coming from out of town and using I64 take the 185 exit towards Ashland go 5 miles to State Route 716--Turn left the store is located on the same side of the street as the School next to the Dentist office. If you are coming from Ashland take US60 towards I64 turn right at State Route 716 the store is located on the same side of the street as the Elementary School and right next to the Dentist. Our fall and winter hours of business will remain the same as the summer hours:
